It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for the Doc to head out to his private airfield and jet off for parts unknown. Meanwhile, the NerdLove interns and residents take over the comments section for their own nefarious purposes!
This week’s suggested topic:
Game of Thrones comes back in April and after a few cruel teases, they’ve just dropped the season 6 trailer.
CLEGANEBOWL 2016! GET HYPE!
(ahem)
This season is when things get especially interesting as the show has diverted so far from the books that it’s become it’s own thing and what seems to be going on in the books may not apply to the show (and vice versa). This is hardly the only show that diverges from it’s source material; SyFy’s The Magicians and AMC’s The Walking Dead have likewise gone in different directions from the original story.
So let’s talk about it. Do you prefer the purity of the original stories, or are you a Shownly, preferring the medium of television? If you watch both, how does knowing what’s about to happen influence your viewing?
Also! If you’re in the Las Vegas area: this Friday, (3/11) I’m going to be signing copies of New Game +: The Geek’s Guide to Love, Sex and Dating at Alternate Reality Comics, from 4-7, so stop on by! And afterwards, meet up with your fellow fans, readers and nerdlovers for the first NerdLove Meet-Up of 2016 at the Millenium Fandom Bar. There’s going to be give-aways, drinks and good times. Meet, mingle, maybe even make that special connection. But come on by regardless because it’d be great to meet you.
You know the rules: no hate, no spam, no trolling. And this week, be considerate of your fellow readers/viewers who may not be as caught up on things as you, for the comments are dark and full of spoilers.
Have fun!
