It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time for the Doc to take his private Hyperloop to Cupertino for his annual secret consultations. Meanwhile, the NerdLove interns and residents take over the comments section for their own nefarious purposes! This week’s suggested topic:
It’s iPhone Day!
It’s that sacred holiday where Apple announces a new iteration of a pocket computer, Android users argue that their pocket computers are superior and deserve more coverage and people spend the next two weeks writing hot takes about what our love of our pocket computers are doing to society.
And everyone’s missing the point that we have supercomputers in our pockets and on our wrists. We’re living in a sci-fi future where we bombard our eyes with lasers to see better, where the computers in our cameras is more powerful than the computers that put us into space and we have autonomous self-driving cars. Oh, and an AI that we’ve taught to dream and keep sending it random pictures because hey we kind of like the results and have apparently never read I Have No Mouth and Must Scream. So rather than talk about the newest iPhone (though we can… ) let’s talk about this sci-fi world we live in and the tech we love and take for granted, like the nerds we are.
You know the rules. No hate. No spam. No trolling. No headphone jacks.
Have fun!
